SASCH has a fanciful line up of events and training opportunities in 2017!

We are very pleased to announce that Practical Spirituality for Psychologists and Hypnotherapists Level 1 has been added to the events calendar for 2017. After many requests, Karin Steyn and Dr Hannetjie van Zyl-Edeling will be presenting this 2-day training on the 10th and 11th of June in Johannesburg. The aim of the course is to empower psychologists with a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of spiritual psychology. Spiritual psychology is a blend of spirituality and traditional psychology to help individuals feel better and more content with their lives and deals with personal growth and enlightenment. The self-definition of the individual is extended to include aspects of humankind, the psyche and soul, life and the cosmos. Clients can be guided to explore their spiritual paths in life and work through spiritual crises. To be able to attach meaning and significance to experiences, events and choices helps to create a sense of accountability and responsibility, empathy and resilience

Professionals in the field of spiritual psychology understand that the body, mind, and the spirit all work together, therefore, they must be studied together. Each of these elements must be healthy and “in shape” to achieve optimal harmony.

For Psychology students: After the great success of the 2014 and 2015 Counsellors workshops SASCH will be presenting another workshop this year aimed at preparing, empowering and further educating current psychology students. This event aimed at Honours and 3rd level Psychology students will take place on the 1st of April 2017 and is very popular with students who are interested in Hypnotherapy, Self-hypnosis and the conscious and sub-conscious mind. There will also be a roundtable discussion on obstacles facing students and an opportunity to ask professional practitioners your burning questions. We can only accommodate a maximum of 30 students. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity! Visit http://sasch.co.za/training-events/counsellors-workshop-2017/ to register!

Elementary Hypnosis Training 23rd to 26th of February 2017: This training forms the foundation of Clinical hypnotherapy and provides hypnotherapeutic theory, technique and practice which enables the practitioner to use hypnosis in therapy. It is also a prerequisite for all other hypnotherapy training.  The Elementary training focuses on different types of induction, deepening, trance work and ego strengthening. This training is accredited with 27 general CEU’s and 1 ethical CEU.  For those who missed the February opportunity please book early for the 2nd training opportunity taking place from the 9th to the 12th of November 2017, in Johannesburg.

Intermediate level training will kick off in May, starting with the Intermediate Medical Hypnoanalysis training from the 18th to the 21st of May in Houghton, Johannesburg. Medical Hypnoanalysis is dynamic, short term and directed therapy which aims to alleviate symptoms by means of resolving the underlying subconscious causes. Therapist tools to investigate the subconscious include the Word Association Exercise, dream analysis and regressive therapy. Please visit www.sasch.co.za for insightful articles written by Dr Trevor Modlin and Dr Susan Kriegler.

Intermediate Ericksonian 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th of July 2017: In Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, the therapist works in an indirect way to help a client reach and influence their own subconscious mind. Ericksonian Hypnosis does not require identification of the cause of the problem in the past, but works in the present to utilize the symptom to achieve change in the present. Tools will include the use of metaphors, stories, jokes, tales and fables to teach lessons and provide options to the subconscious in an informal way.

Other events to look out for and book early include: The Hypnotic Mosaic on the 26th of August 2017 and Advanced Ego State Hypotherapy from the 26t to 29th of October 2017.
