We are proud to announce that the open-access book titled, Towards transforming research methods in the social sciences: Case studies from South Africa is in press. The book is edited by Past President of PsySSA, Professor Sumaya Laher and DRM executive members (and past DRM chair and deputy chair respectively), Dr. Sherianne Kramer and Dr. Angelo Fynn. This book presents the first platform for showcasing innovative methods and research to demonstrate the variety of novel techniques available to respond to South African context-bound issues such as diversity, racial and political tensions, socioeconomic disparities and gender inequalities. More specifically, the chapters in the book are written by experts in various methodological fields who locate their work in diverse contexts and fields within the social sciences and draw on original research in order to critically evaluate the practice of a particular research method in a South African context. The book will be published in early 2019.
